What a start Big Tymerz!!!!(thats my team name)
“TKM express”(opponents)..Well it was really express pace not from TKM express but from bats of Amit Verma who top scored with 46 hitting numerous sixes(frankly wanted to count but lost count after few sixes)
Great batting and well supported by left handed Ajith who planned innings well and guided the batting.
Its always a great feeling when many things work as per plan and many more work better than planned J
Big Tymerz lost the toss and TKM express chose to field.
In entered the opening pair of Arthi and Deepa.
They would always count amongst the best students of the game. They were coached to stay on wickets and they did just that .
Opposing bowlers gifted away runs through wides.
Arthi and Deepa ensured a steady start is given to the team by collecting 8 runs in 2 overs(run rate of 4 ..good steady beginning)
Then walks in Amit Verma and Karthik.
Karthik got out to a beauty of a delivery from the opposing team captain.
Then walks in Ajith the left handed batsman to disrupt the bowlers rhythm and take advantage of the shorter leg side boundary..
These 2 continued to play steady till 5 overs.
End of Over 5, team was at score of 23.
Ajith and Amit then decide to unleash. Amit took the charge and hit massive sixes while Ajith ensured other end stayed stable and kept picking valuable runs.
Ajith got out in last over of the match and then it was time to swing bat by whoever walks in.
Abdul got out trying for a swing in an attempt to reach century mark for the team.
Amit also got out in last over for a well made 46.
Bruce and Sunil were the pair when last ball was being bowled and everyone would remember Sunil’s running or rather sprinting!!!
They almost converted a single into a 4..You really had to be on the ground to believe it!!!!They completed 3 and ended the team total at 95.
Highest so far in MPL2.
Then started the bowling attack of Big Tymerz.
Arthi started with few wides then she got her rhythm and got both openers out in very first over.
Great bowling by Arthi.
Then for the boys, Baish opened the bowling attack and ensured TKM express doesn’t start off with a flier and kept scoring rate low.
Then followed Karthik who bowled an excellent line and put pressure on batsman to take runs which were nonexistent to get out of a throw from Baish to keeper Bruce who did a great job at collecting and uprooting the stumps.
Pressure kept mounting on TKM express who didn’t get any loose balls of the next bowler Ajith as well.
When the express team thought they should really start now, they didn’t realize the express bowler of the team Sunil was coming with different intentions and bowled an excellent pace bowling to which TKM express had no clue.
End of 6 overs , it was almost clear that TKM express was left with no steam..seemed like an express stuck at a signal for ever!!!
The bowlers finished off well their quota of overs and Big Tymerz won by atleast 35 runs!!!!
The match saw some excellent diving from Bruce, good sharp running on the field by Sunil, good well judged catch by Souvik, good stops by Abdul, Ajith, Karthik, Abhinav, Shalabh.
Overall all round performance and a great victory to start the tournament…

Well it would be grave injustice if I don’t mention the awesome support we received from so many Cisco folks…

One great take away from the match was every team member was thinking on the field which helped quick dynamic field changes and they proved really effective.
